How did I end up in the world of social work and becoming a staff member for AAU? If we are going to be completely honest that was not my intention. Since I was three years old, I knew I wanted to become a veterinarian. Then one day, I went to visit my uncle out on his farm and got to experience calving season.  That was when I decided I did NOT want to work with animals for the rest of my life. After that I decided I wanted to help people, so I explored my options and began looking into the world of social work and narrowed that down to helping youth; which is what I am going to school for.

I have been working for AAU for three years now and will forever keep working for this agency. It gives you real eye-opening experiences most people cannot comprehend or experience in their day to day living.  I myself am adopted.  Since my mom founded AAU, I have seen  the agency grow since it started in 2006; I was 7 years old at the time.  AAU tag line:  “It’s Not Our Job, It’s Our Life” is what I have lived since then and I wouldn’t have it any other way.  The thing I love most about working with AAU is learning why birth mothers choose adoption.
