We’ve been married for 5 years and live in South Dakota. We met on a cruise, and Cara says Dan is her favorite travel souvenir. We live on three acres in the country. We have the best of both worlds having a small, close community of neighbors while also being near several large cities.

Dan is in sales for a building contractor. Cara has spent her career as a teacher and is currently a substitute teacher so she can be available right away to be a stay-at-home mom. Dan enjoys classic cars, movies, and outdoor activities. Cara enjoys baking, gardening, volunteering with the youth group at church, and writing. We both enjoy reading, travel, sports, activities with our church community, and spending time with family and friends. We have family in California, Texas, and Nebraska and visit them regularly.

We have both wanted to be parents for a long time. We have struggled with infertility, even with medical intervention. We both have adopted members of our families and know the wonderful blessing they have been to us. We know from experience that you don’t have to be related by blood to be part of a family. Family is the people you choose to love. In an open adoption, we want to honor and respect the birth family and maintain open communication. Thank you for considering us.
